Hello folks,

I'm using windows xp and oracle 9i ( same machine ). I setup the parameter remote_login_passwordfile to none and my network account is a member of ora_dba group local group. However when I try to connect ( conn / as sysdba ) i receive the following error message ( ORA-01031: insuficient privileges ). Why does this happen ? Any other parameter to set ?

Thanks in advance

Did you change the username and password without appropriate privileges, ORA-01031 comes when there is no appropriate privileges ,

Hi,

Are you a member of a local admin group. If you are not log in as Administrator on the O/S and try again.

This will resolve your problem because when we are not a member of local admin group and not logged in as administrator oracle does not allow to login with O/S authentication.

HTH
