Hi ,

can u plz let me explain what is SCN and unrecoverable SCN...?

Is SCN , system change number or system commit number...?

to answer one of the questions:
it is system change number, not system commit number.

scn is an internal clock of the database. it represents a state of the database as of a particular moment(ie as of a particular scn). this is used for recovery and read consistance etc.

unrecoverable scn...i do not know.

unrecoverable scn is the scn created during a nologging operation.

SCN is the time-line of the database, and it's an important in DATA-SYN,and it's also important in data block recovery.
