Hi

Got problem while shuting down the instance

SQL> shutdown abort ORACLE instance shut down.

SQL> startup pfile='E:\oracle\max\dat\initmax.ora'
ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 67836428 bytes
Fixed Size 453132 bytes Variable
Size 58720256 bytes
Database Buffers 8388608 bytes
Redo Buffers 274432 bytes Database mounted.

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

Check the alert log, and get off of 9.2.0.1, a particularly buggy version.
