Hi,

I have a problem with oracle 9i on WhiteBoxLinux (RHEL4-Clone).
The database does not start at boot time, the rc-scripts run and return a successfull startup, but the database does not start.
If I call /etc/init.d/oracle start as root, the database starts without any problems.

Do you have a good idea?

Thanks for your help

Jan

Did You know what are alert.log? This is the log file, where databse are write the most important information about his work. Also in this file are write detailed information about startup of database. It is impossible to not have this file if databse was startet at last once. I want to know from this file if your database are are trying to start during startup of your WhiteBoxLinux (RHEL4-Clone).
