Hi all,

I am in the process of moving my database from one mount point to another. I have moved the datafiles, control files and redo log files to the new location. The problem starts when I try to rename a tempfile. The tempfile cannot be offlined or renamed as per the Oracle mannual.
Can someone help me how to rename the temp data file. It's very urgent.

Thanks in advance.

Create a new temp tablespace.
Make it default.
Drop the old.

How did you move the SYSTEM datafiles without shutting down the database?

I did shutdown the database while moving the system and undo datafiles.

Thanks for the response Mahesh. I created a new ts, made it the default and dropped the old one.

Thanks
