Hi All

I am having oracle 10G rel 2(Non RAC) running on Linux As 3. Already one database as DB01 is running on it. Now i wants to install second database as db02 on it through DBCA. My querries are:

1. Is there any neeed to create separate home & Base directories for the second database?

2. Through enterprise manage how can i see the db02 database. I mean how to switch between the two diffrent databases. As Enterprise Manager does not give the option to select the other database.

Kindly Reply

Regards
Bally

No need a new ORACLE_HOME.
all you need is a new ORACLE_SID.
set your tnsnames.ora to talk to both the databases.
In OEM browse databases based on tnsnames (or you can detect the other instance? I have not worked with the newer versions of OEM)
