Hello,
I have installed and created an oracle 10g database on a machine in my office, created users and table.
Now I want to transfer this on the office server. what is the procedure to follow.
Note: oracle 10g installed on linux server while client on windowx xp

May be i am misinterpreting aciolac's statement.
Exported dumps are platform independent. You can have the dumps anywhere. While doing SCP/SFTP, make sure you use the bin format
or
make use of tnsentries during import (you can import from desktop to server)

I think, that single path to resolve dillema in independency of platforms is to make exepriment with exp/imp in different paltforms. But now I have not time to make so experiments - so will presupose that Mahesh Rajendran are right. I am read that exp/imp are not platform independent(at last on Oracle8i).
