i am going to take ovet a oracle 9i database server from another
DBA , as i am new to database and due to some reason i am suppose to do the job , for that i need a check list for data base administration......

As Starting you can go for this things.
Alert Monitoring( Its very important as most of the dba skip this you will really find what really happing in your database there)
I/O monitoring
mem usage
tablespace management
backup status
these are few things you can monitor initallay for most of the things you will be getting a lot of ready made scripts on web just give a search on google.
