Hi Dirish,

I hope you are looking for the size to fix for the datafile.
You will not simply fix the size of the datafile.
Kindly ensure if there is more data's coming to any particular datafile. Then you resize that datafile to the maximum size.

In production fix a size and set to autoextent. It will be high risk to take a chance.

>>datafiles in oracle 7.3.4 and 10g?
Whatever the version may be, if the OS is 32 bit, then the datafile cannot grow over than 2gb.
9i and above on 64 bit OS will even support terabyte sized datafiles (through bigtablespace option)

Hi Mahesh,

What is the risk here?
How will it get fixed?

I said that we cant take a chance for risk in the Production Database. It will always prevention is better than cure.

Mahesh,

bigfile tablespace was introduced in 10g not 9i.

That is what i was asking?
Prevent what with what? Smile
If you mean auto-extend on it is not always a cure. Could become a pain infact.
