I am in the process of testing out migration strategies for DBs running 8.1.7.4.1 to 10.2. I was thinking I may as well install the latest patches as well (10.2.0.2 & 10.2.0.3). It does not appear as though they are cumulative. I notice a new 'oracle.exe' in the 10.2.0.2 zipped file that does not exist in the 10.2.0.3 file. Are both patches necessary? Our application uses Oracle in a relatively vanilla fashion. We're standard edition without any extra Oracle applications.
The reason I ask is the patch install is taking FOREVER using OUI....however it could also be the decrepit server I've been given as well.
