Hi All,

I am want to know whether we can give different directories for oracle_base and oracle_home in oracle10g installation, like

ORACLE_BASE=/home/oracle

ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle


Kindly suggest me if there is any impact in giving different directories for the BASE AND HOME if any.

In good installation you should have different ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME (ORACLE_HOME depends on version, ORACLE_BASE may not).
