Reffering to following link .

Exact scenario happend to me for my test database and recreated the undo tablespace as mentioned in the link.

Can someone please tell me why Step10 to Step14 are required?Why to create a additionaly undo tablespace ?

That's because his database was running previosly on UNDOTBS02 and now after creationg of undo tablespace he wants to make again from UNDOTBS01 to UNDOTBS02.

Why UNDOTBS01 ?
why dont he drop UNDOTBS02 and recreate it

One UNDO should be there and they have only one and that is also corrupted, that's why.

Oracle RDBMS require to have one undo atleast. Undo tablespace is mandatory tablespace.

Thts true!
for a time being , can we keep it as SYSTEM and create our required tablespace (UNDOTBS02) .wht role UNDOTBS01 has to play here.
its just a matter of 5 mins and we are in RESTRICTED mode.
