There is a notebook which has installed Windows 2000 Server and Oracle 9i Server.
The ODBC to the service name of Oracle could not be visited by any software. I am sure the setting of ODBC is correct.
However, software using oracle driver or Microsoft MDAC could visit the same service name directly.
Please tell me how to config the system.
Thanks!

Check whether you have the necessary TNS entries in the tnsnames.ora file

try doing a tnsping with the service nanme and check whether you are able to connect or not.

If you have multiple Oracle home. Configure the TNS_ADMIN env
variable to correct network path.

EG:
TNS_ADMIN=D:\oracle\ora920\network\admin
