We had that once, If I remember correctly, It might be a corrupted control file because of an OS or disk error.

Did the OS or the machine have a crash?

If your case is the same as ours, then 484173 is the controlfile sequence number in the controlfile block, the 484158 is the one in the controlfile header, and they don't match.

Then you would either have to restore a backup of the controlfiles and recover the database, or re-create the controlfiles manually.

if your oracle is not started when you restart the computer,
1. first you login through this user and password.
username=internal
password=oracle
2. then you type startup of command line
3. after some configuration you able to connect through scott and tigar

1. internal no more exists since version 9.0 released 2001. It's time to update your knowledge.

Moreover, I think either he solved his problem during the past 9 days or he recreated his database.
