I just installed a cluster database on 10g RAC, filesystem (NO ASM). One of the databases starts up correctly but the other gives me the following error while trying to connect / as sysdba.

SQL> connect / as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-09925: Unable to create audit trail file
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
Additional information: 9925
ORA-01075: you are currently logged on

my audit_file_dest is set to the correct path and adump directory where the audit_file_dest is pointing has write permissions to the oracle user.

Any idea?

When a user disputes the validity of any Oracle/system error message, my only response is "Prove it!".

As Oracle user "touch" a file in the adump folder.

can you see that directory from this node?seems like the filesystem its on is not shared i,e other node is not able to see it.
