Hi All,
On sun solaris 10 , i have installed oracle 10.2.0.1 software only. Can i take sysdba login , but when i login as sysdba i'm getting the following error.
ORA-12162: TNS:net service name is incorrectly specified
I checked the tnsname.ora file but tnsname.ora file is not created.

NOT Required when we connect without TNS_ENTRY.
Required when we connect with TNS_ENTRY.
Always better to connect with TNS_ENTRY becuase suppose if we have two database in single server then we can identify our database through TNS_ENTRY and not connect to wrong database.
